Installing your SSL Certificate / Web Server Certificate / Secure Server Certificate from ssl247.co.uk

Firstly when your issuance email arrives you will have two certificates in the email - your server certificate and a UTN chained certificate.

Copy the UTN chained certificate into a text editor such as notepad and save as chain.crt.
Copy your web server certificate into a text editor such as notepad and save as yourdomain.crt.
Copy the Root CA certificate found at the bottom of this page into a text editor such as notepad and save it as root.crt.

Install the UTN Chained certificate

1. Click the Key Ring tab.
2. Click the Show Trusted roots box in the lower left corner - all the existing Trusted Roots are displayed.

3. Click on Add Trusted Root button.
4. At the Files of type box select All files. Locate the file chain.crt previously saved, and click Open.

Install your web server certificate

1. Right click on your black key ring that displays the yellow question mark.

2. Select Attach Certificate.
3. Select Files of type All files and open the certificate file yourdomain.crt.
4. Right click on your black key ring that displays the yellow question mark.
5. Select Attach Certificate.
6. Select Files of type All files and open the certificate file chain.crt.
7. Right click on your black key ring that displays the yellow question mark.
8. Select Attach Certificate.
9. Select Files of type All files and open the certificate file root.crt.

Notice that your keyring is now green and ready to use.

Click Yes to update the server settings.

Restart your server.

Test your certificate by connecting to your server.
Use the https protocol directive (e.g. https://your server/) to indicate you wish to use secure HTTP.

Note: The padlock icon on your Web browser will be displayed in the locked position if you have set up your site properly.
