Installing your SSL Certificate / Web Server Certificate / Secure Server Certificate from ssl247.co.uk

Firstly when your issuance email arrives you will have your web server certificate in the email.

Copy your web server certificate into a text editor such as notepad and save as yourdomain.txt.

NOTE: Do not shutdown or restart the server until all steps have been completed.

Install the Web Server Certificate

  1. Now click Install Certificate on the left side menu frame.
  2. Select This Server under the Certificate for section.
  3. Leave the certificate name field blank.
  4. Select Message Text with headers
  5. Cut and paste the contents of your Web Server Certificate sent via email into this message box.
  6. Include the headers and footers of the certificate; beginning with - - - - -BEGIN CERTIFICATE- - - - - and including - - - - -END CERTIFICATE- - - - - .
  7. Click Add Certificate to install this certificate into the database.
    Click OK on the popup windows.

Configuring the Server

  1. Click Server Administration located at the top right of the navigation box. The system returns to the server administration main menu.
  2. Click the button that indicates your server name.
  3. Click View Server Settings on the menu list.

Setting Security and encryption

  1. Check your Security settings. If it is off, click on Security. The Encryption On/Off page is displayed.
  2. Click Encryption On. Make sure the alias is associated with this certificate. Click OK.
  3. Click on Save and Apply.
  4. Type the password you used when you generated the key pair in the popup window.
  5. Press Return and the secure server will start running.

Test your certificate by connecting to your server.
Use the https protocol directive (e.g. https://your server/) to indicate you wish to use secure HTTP.

Note: The padlock icon on your Web browser will be displayed in the locked position if you have set up your site properly.
