New GlobalSign passport ratings put businesses’ reputations in the hands of consumers

GlobalSign – one of the longest established Certificate Authorities – has partnered with community-powered surfing tool, Web of Trust, to bring user ratings to its passport service.

The GlobalSign passport is a site seal which, when clicked, displays website credentials. Website owners can now choose to display additional business credentials, like consumer ratings.

A range of third party information can be displayed with the Web of Trust ratings, including ‘Trustworthiness’, ‘Vendor reliability’, ‘Privacy’ and ‘Child safety’.

Web of Trust is made of 18 million users who provide data based on their own experiences of 31 million websites. Its addition to the GlobalSign passport service enhances confidence in websites secured by GlobalSign, and this service will be coming soon to SSL247, the UK’s number one SSL reseller.
