On Friday, December 14, the SSL247 Lab team, our expert and CREST Registered Testers (CRTs), will be travelling to Sophia Antipolis in the south of France to participate in a unique event.
As a part of the team’s R&D activity focused on IoT Security (Internet of Things, also known as connected or smart devices), our accredited team of pentest experts will participate in a ph0wn Capture the Flag event focused on smart devices/IoT.
A Capture The Flag event, or CTF, is a special kind of competition that is often offensive and has the aim of solving information security challenges.
This second CTF event will be an opportunity for the team to learn and discover new techniques at the heart of everyday technology. To give you an example of what to expect, a highlight from last year’s event was the exploitation of a weather station.
To rise to the challenge, our team will come prepared with our soldering irons, bus pirates (a tool used to read information sent by microcontroller peripherals) and radiofrequency analysers.
Our team will once again compete under the name “LordOfThePing”, both with the aim of reaching the top of the rankings and participating in sharing knowledge and skills in the true spirit of a CTF event.
See you there, next Friday from 6pm!
The ph0wn CTF event will take place in the Espace Entreprise and Learning Centre
at the SophiaTech Campus in Sophia Antipolis, France.
